He couldn't read or write. However, he was very good with his hands. Almost like a handy man...  He was from a very poor background.  His family which was a grandmother in his case taught him to be gentle, charming and good. He had excellent taste and could dress well without needing expensive clothes. He was humble, but not submissive. He had a lot of class.
