There is an age old argument between those who believe in God and Jesus Christ and those who don’t. Is the bible even real? Are all of those stories made up? Did Jesus even exist? Did the flood really happen? And perhaps the biggest argument of all is whether or not God was the one who created the world and man or did this all come about because of some Big Bang in the sky. Regardless of the constant debates, it seems like the truth lies with the believer. As a Christian you lean on God and creationism while others rely on evolution and Darwin. While people can debate that God doesn’t exist and the bible is a book of fables, they aren’t really able to disprove its validity.

However one religion for certain shows that its origins come from a completely fictional place. L Ron Hubbard wrote a book that was later turned into a religion. Hubbard was a science fiction writer who wrote a series of books that people took as the truth and Scientology was established in 1955. This religion is now a growing religion in at least 65 countries of this earth with millions of followers. It focuses on the total enlightenment of the soul and ridding yourself of all the negative emotions, influences and experiences in your life.

Sounds harmless right? Lets take a deeper look. According to Hubbard, 75 million years ago there existed an evil galactic warlord by the name of Xenu. He was so evil that he collected 13 trillion aliens all over the galaxy and brought them over to planet earth and dumped them into volcanoes. Then he took hydrogen bombs and blew them up so the bodies would vaporize. From the explosion the alien spirits shot straight up into the air, but never fear lord Xenu had thought this through and created vacuums in the sky that sucked up these alien spirits and dumped them into a huge theater where they were forced to sit and watch videos and brainwashed into believing in God. They were then released into the world and these alien spirits, called thetans, attach themselves to humans and are responsible for anything negative associated with the human. The only way to enlightenment is to rid yourself of these thetans. How do you do that?! Well pay a lot of money and Scientology will help you! They will “audit” you and give you a stress test and finally when you are ready to rid yourself of the thetan you’ll either sneeze, poop, pee, or yawn. That’s right, every time you do something your body does naturally a thetan escapes.

Sounds ridiculous right? Who in their right mind would believe such utter bullshit? Actually a lot of stars do and they promote it in a way that other people get sucked in. In order to move into the next step towards enlightenment you must shell out some serious cash. Its is a profitable religion and people have been known to go into extreme debt to acquire the materials Scientologist swear by. Some people turn over their houses and cars to this religion. The sad truth is that this religion is causing deaths to those who try to escape from it. And those who do escape suffer serious issues because of the brainwashing power this religion has over them. In Hubbards own words, “If you want to make a little money, write a book. If you want to make a lot of money, create a religion.”

  1. With a religion like this one making it to prominence in the modern world, ever wonder who was behind the ancient religions and why? Were they done for similar reasons? Were the founders simply looking to make money and control peoples minds?

  2. SiteInsights says:

    Dear Tom Cruise,

Please use your voodoo to open Kip’s eyes to the truth… Please allow him to see that his money will be used for a higher purpose (namely to pay Kirstie Allie’s grocery bill)… Oh… And a pony would be nice.

That is all… Amen… Or whatever.

    • Kip says:

Oh no… My readers are idiots.

      #1. Get the sex right.
#2. Do you see my name signed at the bottom of the rant? Rants and Confessions are submitted by other readers.

I do agree with the rant. Scientology is crap! :)

      • Santosh says:

I can assure you that fair game does exist. I have been prtiseotng Scientology for a decade, and have my share of horror stories. Parents stalked. Friends followed.I\’ve been accused of domestic terrorism, drug sales and vandalism, resulting in police coming to my door. You want to talk to someone about fair game? Drop me a line. Although I am in sunny California, this is a world wide issue. This kind of thing has happened to Scientology critics worldwide, and continues to this day. This day, Aug. 16, Anonymous returns to the streets for another global picket. We will be handing out information, dancing, and enjoying cake.Expect us!

I think I will found a religion based on the premise that Moe, Larry, and Curly are the real holy trinity, and that you can achieve true enlightenment if you read the Farmer’s Almanac backwards.

  4. Alex says:

If people are dumb enough to follow Scientology in the first place then they deserve to have bad things happen to them.. lose a car, house. If you get mixed up in the wrong sort of activity bad things happen just like anything else. If you deal drugs you get shot. If you elect Obama you lose your money. If you follow Scientology, you lose your house. If you follow Darwin, this is where you would make a comment about survival of the fittest.

To quote the article, “The sad truth is that this religion is causing deaths to those who try to escape from it”. What does that mean? Who is dying trying to escape of Scientology… because for as far as I know it is just a benevolent scam organization. Are they killing nonbelievers or something? I probably misunderstand something in the article, but I would like to know about that.

    • MissLIlly says:

Google it, there are many websites devoted to getting the truth out about scientology especially by those who have had first hand experience with the religion. And yes people have died while trying to get out.

      • Alex says:

I agree with the first part you said about there being many websites dedicated to the truth by people who have first hand experience with the religion, but that doesn’t answer my question about deaths associated with Scientology. Saying “Google it” isn’t a very solid argument either since as you know they have websites for anything, factual or not. What it sounded like when I read the article is that the members of Scientology are killing people who are trying to get out of the cult. That’s what I want to know about.

        • MissLiLLy says:

would you like me to chew your food for you to? If you want to find something out then research it, find out and be happy with your knowledge. Or are you used to others regurginating everything to you?

I said ‘yes people have died while trying to get out’. This phrase followed my statement about the websites. Naturally those websites would elaborate on that. Reading comprehnsion is not your friend.

        • MissLiLLy says:

and by the way I was not making an arugement. I was just making a point of reference. Not every website is to believed, this is true, but its as great place to start to look into those things that interest you.

        • Paul says:

One way of people dieing could probably mean suicide… Think about it, lose the car, than lose the house, lose your family cuz they think your an idiot, what else is there to do? Let me think, oh yay, kill myself.

Other ways: The leaders of this religion hire highly professional hitmem to kill the dropouts to keep the religion and what goes on inside the closed doors.

Based on some stuff i read, if you want to continue living after you leave them, you gotta donate a portion of your earnings to them monthly. Its one of those things, once you get in, theres no way out.

Just in the united states, this religion is generating approx between 25-30 billion dollars a year. Where does that money go i have no idea. But im guessing some of it goes into marketing. Gotta get more people involved. ETC.

Want to know more? Google it. Bing it. Yahoo it. Ask it.

  5. Mak says:

In most cases I’d say “look at your own religion, it could look just as ridiculous to others” but in this instance Scientology is a lot less believable than any other religion although Scientology is really a cult no matter what they say… that take £1000s from people to get their books. Also it’s been shown that they use hypnosis techniques on people like “lets sit in silence and look at each other to reflect on things” (obviously paraphrasing lol) and if you look into someones eyes for a while you become more suggestible. Also big hint that Scientology is a load of rubbish… the founder of the religion is a Sci-fi writer!!!

  6. Entertainers like Tom Cruise and John Travolta can make great movies but they are so far out of touch with reality I’m surprised they’re not living in rubber rooms. Complete idiots if you ask me. It’s amazing how many people will follow things like that even though it defies common sense.

I haven’t heard the evil galactic warlord and the aliens aspect before so I can’t really comment on that but I can’t let you get away with the comment, “the truth lies with the believer’. Maybe I’m nitpicking but the truth is the truth and belief is belief – period. The notion that different people have different truths belongs right there with Ebonics – in our embarrassing past.

    • Paul says:

So D. Hawkins. What do you think the truth is? If you were to look for it, where would u find it? If you were to prove it, how would you prove it? Since you disagree with the write, you must know a thing or two more than the write him/herself.

      ??

    • MissLiLLy says:

“It seems like the truth lies with the believer” – your truth might not be someone elses truth. Hence where all the debates and arguements stem from. The christians argue that creation is the absolute truth and that there is a God. While others argue that the Big Bang Theory and theory of evolution are the absolute truth and that there isn’t a necessity for God to exist. What you believe is your truth. You can be a diehard believer in what you believe and no matter what anyone says or what “proof” they present to you that is what YOU ARE going to BELIEVE. Therefore, you as a believer choose your own truth and the truth lies with you. Comprende?

  7. Kip says:

LOL… Anyone else seeing the Google Scientology ads that are appearing here?

    How ironic…

  8. Winton Bates says:

Perhaps there is something missing in the lives of people who turn to science fiction for their religion.

May the Force be with you!

  9. Rares says:

MegaMan The Madman, you’re absolutley right, for all we know 1000 years from now scientology could be the most mainstream religion

  10. Bruce says:

I agree with the first part you said about there being many websites dedicated to the truth by people who have first hand experience with the religion, but that doesn’t answer my question about deaths associated with Scientology. Saying “Google it” isn’t a very solid argument either since as you know they have websites for anything, factual or not. What it sounded like when I read the article is that the members of Scientology are killing people who are trying to get out of the cult. That’s what I want to know about.

  11. Probably the most neglected friend you have is The Flying Spaghetti Monster. Forget Xenu…forget Tom Cruise (even though he really is a God)..I don't know what I was thinking. I was drunk when I said those other things. Before you can be a true friend to the world, one must first become a friend to a cheese sandwich. Amen.

  12. Antome says:

Why is this religion dumber than others? I accept this only if written by an atheist, like I'd expect by someone with a communist avatar :) .

  13. Antome says:

    @MissLILLY
Exactly, though many scientist see the big bang like a working hypothesis so it is different, but yes, those saying it is absolute truth because they read it on a "sacred book" are in the same boat.
But religious truth born for a differend scope than theories, it must be clear.
